You know there is something about Zorro's Black Whip, that I really liked. It was honestly refreshing to see a serial where a woman could really take care of herself.

That's what I am saying. The woman in serials is generally handed the role of "Damsel in Distress", but Republic saw the potential of casting the woman in a different role in a few serials like Zorro's black whip and a few others that you made mention. They may of been a B- Movies company compared to MGM, Paramount, Universal etc, but nobody could touch them on serials. BTW the last serial done ever was by Republic Studios in 1956.
